Featured Topic
The featured topic for this month is Intergovernmental.
When working on an intergovernmental case, it can be overwhelming to gather or review the correct forms necessary for each case. Understanding which forms to look for is essential, as each type of case is unique and requires specific forms for smooth processing.
The Intergovernmental Tools within the PORT contains plenty of resources to assist when working on an intergovernmental case.
The Intergovernmental Forms Matrix is a resource that has been recently revamped with detailed information to help ensure the appropriate forms are used according to each unique case.
The Intergovernmental Forms Matrix helps identify the federal intergovernmental forms needed when requesting a specific intergovernmental action under the Uniform Interstate Family Support Act (UIFSA). All forms are provided by the Office of Child Support Services (OCSS). It's important to note that the matrix doesn't include every document that may be required in a specific intergovernmental request. The jurisdiction to which you are sending the request may have additional document requirements based on the case circumstances and their laws. Before sending the intergovernmental request, it's advisable to review the Intergovernmental Reference Guide (IRG), contact the other agency, or both for a specific state to check for any additional requirements needed for a UIFSA packet to avoid any potential re-work.
